Opened in 1995, BCEC is owned by South Bank Corporation on behalf of the Queensland Government and is proudly managed by leading international venue management specialists ASM Global. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, BCEC brings over 26 years of industry knowledge to deliver exceptional, world class experiences with award-winning service, and a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.

BCEC has a global reputation for excellence as reflected by 185 awards including the AIPC APEX ‘World’s Best’ Convention Centre Award for 2016 to 2018, and Runner Up in the AIPC APEX Award for 2020-2022. BCEC is the major driver of Business Events into Queensland and to date has created more than $4.9 billion in economic benefit for the State. Our corporate responsibility program allows BCEC to give back to the community in which we do business. We work tirelessly to minimise the impact our events have on our environment.

Getting to the venue

Public Transport

Getting to BCEC via public transport is easy and efficient with bus, ferry, and train options available. More information about planning your journey via public transport can be found on the TransLink website.
  • TRAIN: South Brisbane Railway Station adjacent to the Convention Centre on Grey Street or South Bank Railway Station are the most convenient stations to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
  • BUS SERVICES: The Cultural Centre Station on Melbourne Street and the South Bank Busway Station corner of Colchester and Tribune Streets are closest to BCEC.
  • CITYCAT & FERRIES: The public transport ferries CityCats operate every day and stop at the South Bank River Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. The inner-city ferry travels between the CBD, North Quay and Kangaroo Point, stopping at South Bank Terminal 1 and 2 on the Clem Jones Promenade.

Parking

The venue can provide undercover parking for up to 1500 vehicles. The car park has direct lift access to the Centre’s multiple convention floors and exhibition facilities. Car Park 1 is best for Merivale Street rooms, Car Park 2 & 3 are best for Exhibition Halls and Grey Street rooms via Russell Street Walkway.

Prof Sarah Wise

Emory University School of Medicine

Sarah K. Wise, MD, MSCR is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the Emory Otolaryngology Residency Program Director, Rhinology Fellowship Director, and Director of Otolaryngic Allergy. Dr. Wise completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, residency at Emory University and rhinology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Wise has served on the Board of Directors of the American Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. She will become President of the American Rhinologic Society in September 2022, serving as the Society’s first female president. Her clinical interests include inflammatory rhinology, otolaryngic allergy, relationship of allergy and chronic rhinosinusitis, and cerebrospinal fluid leaks. Dr. Wise lectures nationally and internationally. Her most notable publication is the International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Allergic Rhinitis, where she served as first author/primary editor.
